The WPD is committed to the philosophy of Community Policing.   Among the goals of the CPA is to help citizens to better understand how the police work in their village.  The CPA provides an opportunity to keep the lines of communication open between the police and the community.

The police and the citizens both benefit by meeting each other face to face in a friendly setting.  Participating citizens get to know the people behind the badge. Graduates will also be able to take their knowledge back into their neighborhoods where they can inform other community members about their police department.

Once you graduate the Westmont Citizens Police Academy you may select to join the Westmont Citizens Police Academy Alumni.  The Alumni have further monthly educational programs and help with community and police events.
